Dow Introduces Enhanced RV Winterization Fluid With New Formula and ... - WebWire

Posted: 14 Sep 2009 10:37 AM PDT

DOWFROST RVR is a Safer Alternative for RVs, Vacation Homes and Other Seasonal Equipment

Midland, MI - The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) is introducing an enhanced seasonal water system winterization product for recreational vehicles, vacation cottages, boats, pools and spas that is readily biodegradable, blended with renewable ingredients, and packaged in a container produced using proprietary Dow technology.

DOWFROST RVR seasonal freeze protection fluid is a ready-to-use solution that provides protection against bursting of potable water systems when exposed to freezing temperatures and contains proprietary corrosion inhibitors to help prevent rusting and corrosion of plumbing system components in seasonal equipment. It will be available on store shelves beginning September 2009.

Originally introduced in 2008, the product formulation is now blended with twenty five percent more renewable, vegetable-based ingredients. DOWFROST RVR is available in convenient, one-gallon containers manufactured with a new proprietary plastic from Dow. CONTINUUM from Dow is stronger, lighter and requires fewer raw materials to manufacture than traditional plastic. This new packaging contains eight percent less plastic than the bottle used in 2008.

DOWFROST RVR is formulated using synthetically produced, food-grade propylene glycol and corrosion inhibitors, ingredients that are Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS) and considered suitable as food additives by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). DOWFROST RVR Fluid complies with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and FDA regulations for use in applications where contact with food or beverage products could occur. Products like DOWFROST RVR are important for use in outdoor applications, especially when there is a possibility of drinking water contamination, or a chance the product could be spilled near a lake or river. Since DOWFROST RVR is readily biodegradable and is practically non-toxic to aquatic life, it will break down if spilled on the ground or in the water without harming fish, reptiles, or mammals. The product is also safe for use where accidental exposure to children or pets could occur.

DOWFROST RVR is manufactured and marketed in conjunction with SOUTHWIN Ltd. (www.southwin.co) and will be available at select Wal-Mart, AutoZone, OReilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys and other retailers. More information about DOWFROST RVR can be found at www.dowfrostrvr.com.

Find Out What Is at Upcoming Interstate Exits - TMCnet

TMCNet: Find Out What Is at Upcoming Interstate Exits

Santa Fe, NM, Sep 14, 2009 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- AllStays.com has taken their free interstate exit guide (http://www.allstays.com/Special/interstate-exits.htm) to another level for those that travel on the open road. Along with a map version showing each interstate exit in the United States, AllStays.com has added both a text version and stripped down mobile version so that travelers can see entire interstate exit info at a glance as they head in whichever direction, east, west, north or south. Information includes gas, restaurants, lodging and major stores.

"I love to travel and I love maps. GPS units tend to make you search for specific places or categories. Sometimes I would pass by an exit and then notice that a favorite restaurant was right next to favorite store and a good hotel. You don't always know how long you are are going to drive in a day. Can you go longer without fuel? Maybe you want to estimate when to get off, find a bed, something to eat or maybe stop at a large store for supplies or auto parts. What is at the next few exits or at one 200 miles down the line? Instead of messing with the gadget that is based on where you are right now, you can click or scroll ahead quickly and see what's at which exit," says Adam Longfellow of Allstays.com.

There is also a hotel search based on the GPS coordinates of each exit so travelers can get an idea of where hotels are in relation to the interstate exit instead of the city name that most websites use. You can use AllStays.com to book it online, click to call the front desk or just be informed of the rates ahead of time so you won't pay too much. Adam Longfellow adds "Something that I've done on trips, is to check the rates just off the exit or in the hotel parking lot on your laptop or phone. Walk in and ask the clerk the rate. Depending on if it's higher or lower than what you already found, set your mobile device on the counter and say I found such and such a rate, do you want to beat it? I've gotten a better rate every time. This is especially effective in a down economy when rooms are empty." The interstate exit guide is sorted both by number and by state to help travelers find them depending on the particular trip. In order to be complete, the interstate exit guide lists all exits, state lines, notable mile markers and rest areas, including exits without services. The map website version is at http://www.allstays.com/Special/interstate-exits.htm and the simple mobile version is at http://m.allstays.com AllStays.com, based in New Mexico (US), lists all kinds of lodging, from primitive campgrounds and RV Parks to luxury hotels and spa resorts. AllStays also links directly to official websites to make sure you have the real scoop on the latest and most accurate information.
